On Friday afternoon we packed Garnet and Grace in the car and drove to Berrima, where we stayed at the Berrima Guest House. The croquet lawn was excellent.

Saturday afternoon we dropped in on the McMullens at Borambola near Wagga. Their wine was delicious, Rusty kept Grace occupied, and we got a tour of the wonderfully restored homestead.

Then on to Janet P's 80th birthday in Wagga. It was great to catch up with the Poates and other old family friends. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Then on to Tumbarumba to see Tony and Margaret. The country was parched after a couple of years of drought.

Snowgoose looked dry but wonderful, and Bass looked big, but BIG.

Marg's roses were beautifully in bloom, and their scent was heady. She and Grace made potpourri with rose petals and lavender. We were sent home with this giant zucchini. It took us several meals to get through it!

My favorite photo of the trip. Riding on the back of the truck, looking for kangaroos at dusk.

We went up on the hill after dinner to look at the stars and take a night view of the house.

Tony gave Grace an extensive tennis lesson, and a racquet!
