The first leg of our trip with the Gaylords was a flight to Adelaide. Grace adopted Weston and Caitlin's excellent diary-keeping tradition.

To prepare for the attack of the giant scone, Chris and I had a snooze on a bench outside the South Australian Museum.

Chris and I visited Hans Heysen's house and studio the next day. On the left is his studio; in the middle is an interior of the studio showing a little of its wonderful light; on the right is his daughter Nora's studio. (See Chris' homage to Nora)

That evening we went for a dusk walk at the Warrawong Earth Sanctuary. We saw many different and strangely named marsupials.

Note the small gray paddy melon kangaroos among the trees, or were they potteroos?

Hello to the McLaren Vale, the Woodstock Winery (which we can recommend), and the upscale cafe in Willunga (which we can't).

Then it was on to Kangaroo Island.
