Spring Snowshoeing at Snoqualmie Pass
April 2003

I took Bruce, Amanda, and Eric up a handy clearcut across the valley from the Snoqualmie Pass ski area. (Same place I took this panorama last year). The weather was a moisturizing drizzle, the snow was crusty--we had a great time.

Bruce and Amanda were well prepared. Eric made up for his lack of outdoor gear and lunch by keeping Avery occupied.

Avery did his best to retrieve snowballs.

The dark but not foreboding forest. Eric and I sheltered from the rain here while we ate our lunch. Then we slid halfway down the mountain on our snowshoes and backsides, and very nearly ended up in a rather nasty creek. It doesn't get any better than that.
