Here's Avery in one of his favorite places a few days before we left for Sydney.

Picture 014
He had a lovely 4 weeks with the Supplees before he could travel, but things were not so pleasant at the Quarantine Station in Western Sydney where he arrived on July 31st.

We weren't allowed to visit him for the first few days, but when we did he was very excited to see us. So were the hundred or so other dogs who could see us in his cage.

Everybody barked nonstop for about 20 minutes.

Eventually he calmed down a little, but very soon it was time for us to leave him.

He was there for 30 days in all, and only once did he get to run around a little. This was taken during his last week there when we were able to take him into one of the small exercise yards.

Release Day, Sunday August 30th. He whimpered with excitement all the way home.

He settled in to Amherst Street very quickly...

Ahhh... He was always a good boy, but since joining us from quarantine he's been particularly good: "I don't know what I did to deserve that punishment, but I'm certainly not going to do it again!"

He's officially a resident of Cammeray now.

Here he is running at full speed on the Pittwater side of Palm Beach, with his new best friend Aiko.

Thankfully, there will be no quarantine on the return leg of our trip.
